Pregnancy Ponderings.
Just some random, incongruent thoughts about my pregnancy experience...
- Last night while at a dinner party, I couldn't think of the word "protest" - all that was coming to mind was parade. "Let's organize an angry parade through town."

- My partner and I were recently in the grocery store. Evidently, he could sense I was in a foul (hormonal) mood, so he quietly pushed the shopping cart behind me, trying to not interfere with my rampage. As helpful as this was, I snapped when he couldn't read my mind to go grab the feta cheese for me.

- The other day a friend asked me how I would describe the baby's kicks... it feels a bit like when a bird flies into a window and comes to an abrupt halt. That's how I imagine the baby's limbs feel against the inside of the uterus.

- My lovely Mum has been sending me daily (if not twice) videos/memes about pregnancy, newborns, labor & delivery, you name it. She's excited and it's very sweet. The last one (on theme with the previous point), was a video of: How does it feel to have a moving baby inside you?
First trimester: butterfly flapping it's wings; Second trimester: clown fish swimming through a coral reef bumping into it as the currents pick up; Third trimester: bucking bronco.
I'm one week shy of reaching the third trimester; bring on the rodeo.
 - I got this placenta mug from a Marketplace woman who I bought a few other baby items off of, and it is bringing me great joy to drink a warm cuppa coffee out of.

- It felt nice to drive friends to the bar on Halloween night and have a quiet night in - without experiencing FOMO.

- After passing my blood glucose test (aka I did not qualify for having gestational diabetes), I opened the floodgates on my Halloween candy consumption - and didn't feel great afterwards.

- How cool is it that fundal height (this is a new term to me; the distance from the top of the pubic bone to the top of the uterus - a measurement of fetal growth) correlates to the weeks of gestation. At 27 weeks, my fundal height is 27cm!

- The pregnancy app I am using estimates my fetus is currently cauliflower-sized. I have been having fun generating AI images of the fruit/vegetable size comparisons:
